Dear friend,

Spring is known for being full of newness. New plants, new life…new creative projects.

What’s that? You mean you’re not working on new projects because you’re out of inspiration?

Boy, do I have good news for you.

The Challenge

When you sign up, The Company will send you a weekly writing prompt each week for five weeks, beginning April 20th. Maybe you’ll have to write a short story that takes place in space—or write about a character that only has a week to live! Whatever the prompt, you’ll have one week to write a 1,000-word short story.

If you win the challenge and write all five stories, they’ll mail you a free laptop sticker to celebrate! It’s all completely free.

This is a fun and easy challenge, and great to do with your friends or family of just about any age (I mean, as long as you have an imagination and can write, right?).

The Extras

When you join, you’ll be randomly assigned to one of three teams. There will be some fun surprises (and prizes!) for how the teams will compete.

You’re not required to attend, but the teams will meet once per week over Zoom! This is a great, safe way to meet some new writing friends while you encourage and inspire each other.

You’ll also get exclusive access to weekly writing lessons from Brad Pauquette, bestselling author of The Novel Matrix. By the end of these five weeks, your writing muscles will be flexed and ready for your next project.

In addition, the editorial team at The Pearl has promised to keep an eye on the challenge for rising talent to publish in their magazine.

Sound like fun? I’m excited! You can sign up here to start the adventure.

Sincerely,

R. J. Catlin
