Passion (noun) – intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction

Miriam Webster Dictionary

Dear friend,

Everyone is passionate about something. Sometimes it just takes time to discover what that is. Sometimes you discover so many things to be passionate about that it is difficult to know what to do or where to go with it.

When I graduated high school, I had been thinking about what I wanted to do for four years, yet I still had no idea. There were just so many things I wanted to do and learn and I have so many things I enjoy doing that could be a job, that it was nigh impossible to figure it out. So, I just started working.

I experimented with different jobs. When I felt like I had learned all I could about the job I had, I looked for another. I worked at a summer camp, a health food store, a coffee shop, and even had a used books store for a few years.

Overall, in less than ten years I worked over ten jobs before I moved to Ohio for a storytelling apprenticeship. I’ve absolutely loved being at the apprenticeship and I’ll probably be telling stories for the rest of my life.

I am also thankful for the time of searching because I learned about myself and grew new skills in each of those jobs.

However, I pray you don’t have to do the same. I hope that the things I’ve learned will be helpful and useful to you in your journey to finding your passion. That one driving thing in your life. Your inspiration.

Welcome to the journey.

Sincerely,
